About North Luzon Renewables

The North Luzon Renewables wind farm, located in the mountainous terrain of Caparispisan, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, has 27 wind turbines spread out across a 625-hectare forest reserve.

The 81 MW wind farm is a joint venture of AC Energy, UPC Philippines, Mitsubishi Corporation’s Diamond Generating Asia Ltd., and the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure Fund.

As a Gold Standard Certified Project since 2015, North Luzon Renewables wind farm meets the following criteria: it contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions, the local population is involved and participates in the project, the wind farm fosters know-how and experience with renewable energy or energy efficiency technologies, and it respects the environment and contributes to the conservation of biodiversity.

Together with NorthWind, North Luzon Renewables is part of AC Energy’s 700-hectare Conservation Estate, a nature sanctuary with long-term sustainability programs that are anchored on excellent environment management, protection of biodiversity and social programs that aim to improve lives.

Specifications: The wind farm uses 27 units of Siemens SWT-3.0-101 wind turbines, where each turbine has an installed capacity of 3 MW. Generation output is delivered via a dedicated 62km long, 115kV high voltage transmission line from project site to the NGCP substation in Laoag City
